Information you enter

Tool answers—including water concerns, household use, system type and service history—are used to calculate a plan in your browser. The current forms do not submit those answers to a Rural Home Compass server, laboratory, advertiser or contractor. We do not currently offer accounts, cloud profile sync, a contact form or provider-request submission.

A ZIP code is used locally to suggest reviewed state guidance. It does not establish your address, county, jurisdiction, well ownership or system condition. Our analytics event allowlist excludes full ZIP codes and individual form answers. Avoid putting personal information in URLs.

Saved profile and browser storage

“Build and save my home plan” in My Rural Home saves a profile in localStorage under rhc-home-profile-v1 on that browser and device. It may contain ZIP, home age, household size, well/septic types, service dates and selected water concerns. Others using the same browser profile may see it.

The current code has no automatic expiration. “Clear saved profile” removes this saved profile from the current browser; browser site-data controls are another option. This does not delete email, hosting logs, browser backups or copies you printed or saved elsewhere. There is no server-side home-profile copy for us to retrieve or delete.

Other tool answers remain in the current page rather than being saved by our application. We do not currently use sessionStorage or set application cookies. Browser autofill/history and third-party services may have their own storage behavior. Where a browser exposes a connected-assistant interface, My Rural Home offers a checklist-summary action without the ZIP and a clear-profile action; use of that interface depends on your browser/assistant settings.

Hosting and technical visit data

Hostinger hosting/CDN infrastructure delivers the site. Page and asset requests disclose technical information, including IP address and browser request headers, to the serving infrastructure. Hosting may maintain access, security or error logs. Account-level retention and deletion settings have not been verified; we do not promise a fixed retention period.

Ordinary pages use locally hosted scripts, styles and images, with no embedded advertising service at the October 14, 2026 review. Hosting-generated error pages are different: our review observed Google Analytics, DoubleClick and externally hosted font/style resources on the host's 404 response. These requests can disclose technical visit data to the receiving services. This is outside the application code; cookie settings, consent handling and retention for these services have not been verified. We cannot describe all pages on this domain as tracking-free.

Analytics, cookies and advertising

No GA4 measurement ID was present on the ordinary production pages checked on October 14, 2026. The application can load Google Analytics when an ID is configured. Allowed events contain coarse tool/priority categories, state-guide availability, checklist-completion counts and commercial-action identifiers—not full ZIP codes or individual answers. Page locations retain only allowed campaign parameters, not arbitrary query strings or fragments.

If enabled, analytics sends requests to Google and may involve cookies or similar identifiers; coarse events do not make all technical data anonymous. The application has no cookie-consent manager. Configuration, applicable consent requirements, vendor information and this notice must be reviewed before enabling analytics. Hosting error-page tracking is a separate limitation described above.

AdSense and live affiliate or lead-generation services are not enabled in the current application. Notices and data/consent handling must be reviewed before adding them. See Disclosures for present versus possible future relationships.

Email and privacy requests

If you email us, your email service and the receiving mail service process your address, message and attachments. We use correspondence to handle your question, correction, privacy request or business inquiry. Send only necessary information, not sensitive medical or full property records.

Ask about access, correction or deletion at admin@ruralhomecompass.com. Describe your request without initially sending identity documents. Applicable rights, verification, exceptions and information we control depend on circumstances and law; this is not an automated deletion service. Mail-provider settings, backups and a fixed retention schedule have not been verified. We do not promise immediate or universal deletion.

External links and policy changes

External agencies, laboratories and vendors have their own privacy practices. Your browser may send referral information when following links. We do not control their data collection, purchases or laboratory submissions.
