About the project

Useful before it is commercial.

Rural Home Compass is being built for first-time owners of homes with private wells and septic systems—especially people who do not yet know which questions to ask.

Editorial standard

Every indexable page needs a named source, review date, visible limitations, and a useful next action. Location pages require facts that actually change the answer.

Safety standard

We do not diagnose water safety, septic failure, or electrical faults. Tools stop at safe observations and direct higher-risk work to local authorities or qualified professionals.

Commercial standard

Affiliate and provider relationships are disclosed near the action. Routing is based on eligibility and expected payable value, with a non-commercial fallback when no suitable offer exists.

Publishing workflow

  1. Research from primary public sources and current partner terms.
  2. Separate facts, estimates, assumptions, and hypotheses.
  3. Review the template, calculation, safety language, and commercial placement.
  4. Index only after the page passes the unique-data and QA gates.
